About Studio Neant
Studio Neant was founded by Ran ZHU after moving to her dream city Nice in late 2024, following seven years in Canada and three years in Mexico. Originally from Shanghai, Ran received her BA in French and Political Sciences from Shanghai International Studies University and Sciences Po (through Erasmus). She obtained her MBA at HEC Montréal in 2011 and US CPA license in 2016.
Over the past two decades, Ran has backpacked in over 50 countries during her vacations while working as Financial Analyst or Controller with multinational enterprises and government agencies (professional profile on LinkedIn). Each adventure is an opportunity to learn a new language, connect with locals, immerse herself in different cultures, and last but not least, to earn a unique and beautiful visa stamped in her passport.

Life is imaginary and the journey is like action art: create, retouch, screw up, destroy, re-create and redestroy. The process repeats itself until the artist feels too exhausted to create. Yet the process is not valueless even though there is no trace. Viewers see and comment the final works but often ignore those poetic, and struggling moments which become a permanent néant.
